The dates for this retreat are November 29 - December 10, 2025
There will be an option for inclusion of international flights (to/from the Continent) once estimated flight cost is established.
Flights between Nairobi, Zanzibar and Dar Es Salaam are included.
ITINERARY
November 29th - Day 1: Arrive in Nairobi (MAA Hotel and Suites)
November 30th - Day 2: R&R from the travel (meet Nairobi friends for a little sightseeing) - Also have the opportunity to design your own Ankara clothing - custom tailored from fabrics of your choosing
December 1st & 2nd - Days 3 & 4: We set off for the Maasai Mara for our 2-day safari (pickup time is between 5:30 and 6am on the 1st, we return to our accommodations late afternoon on the 2nd)
December 3rd - Day 5: Possible shopping in the morning before heading to the airport to fly to Dar es Salaam. Rest upon arrival
December 4th - Day 6: R&R/Free roam
December 5th - Day 7: Explore Dar es Salaam (guided) - city tour, historical sites, beaches, restaurants, and nightlife
December 6th - Day 8: Head to airport for final destination: Zanzibar (Shanuo Beach Bungalows)
December 7th - Day 9: Hit the ground running with a visit to Prison Island and Nakupenda (sand bar where a feast will be had!)
December 8th - Day 10: Stone Town walking tour (will try to work in a visit to my guide’s home to meet his wife and learn some Tanzanian recipes)
December 9th - Day 11: We head out to swim with the sea turtles at Baraka. R&R afterward until dinner. We will be having dinner at The Rock Restaurant
Retreat total: $4175
Deposit of 30% ($1252.50) due upon booking
Fees include all accommodations in Tanzania and Kenya, a 2-day safari in the Maasai Mara (meals and lodging supplied). Flights between Nairobi and Dar Es Salaam, flights between Dar Es Salaam and Mombasa.
Also included are all transport to/from airports and tours, breakfast each morning, and dinner at The Rock Restaurant.
***Reminder: this is a PHOTOGRAPHY retreat for those in the field (whether professional, semi-professional, or hobbyist). As such, there will be photography-based challenges throughout the week of the trip. I created the IAP Retreats for us to learn from one another, expand upon our current skills, and above all to spark our creativity/inspiration.
